It’s at a 58-degree angle to the horizon, and it’s securely attached. The iPad turns on automatically and you can start typing right away. In typing mode, you put the iPad upright in the keyboard case by letting the magnets stick together.

The Logitech Slim Folio Pro can be used in 3 different ways, typing mode, drawing mode, and reading mode.
Slim folio mac#
The keyboard also has a number of handy shortcuts like those used in Mac OS, including command + tab, which lets you browse between apps: it’s very good for productivity, anyway. On the keyboard we find on the top row 9 groups of shortcut keys, similar to the FN keys on a laptop keyboard:Ģ) Key brightness: adjusts the key illumination brightness (up or down)Ĥ) Virtual keyboard: allows you to display or hide the virtual keyboardĥ) Media buttons: Previous, Play/Pause, NextĦ) Volume buttons: mute, volume higher/lowerħ) Screen on/off: lock the screen of your iPad ProĨ)Bluetooth® Low Energy connection: allows you to pair devicesĩ) Battery check: LED shows the battery status At the bottom right of the strip we find an LED, which turns on when connected or to show the status of the battery. When the iPad side attaches to the magnetic strip on the keyboard side, the keyboard will also turn on automatically. The “case” side can attach itself to this magnetic strip, which makes the iPad stable and sturdy. If we look further towards the bottom, we see a magnetic strip between the bar and the keys. On the top of the keyboard side we find a rubber bar, probably with the battery behind it so it can easily be removed when recycling. Furthermore, we find no buttons or peculiarities on the sides of the keyboard.
The board has a USB-C connection on the right side and can be charged via the USB-C cable directly via the iPad or with the iPad charger. That’s a good sign because that makes the keyboard just seem to melt away in the casing. If we look at the side on which the keyboard is mounted, we don’t actually see that the keyboard is glued to the casing. In short, there is virtually no reduction in sound quality and so the sound recording sounds good. The difference can only be heard when you put both audio fragments next to each other and listen with headphones. With air conditioning as background noise, we were able to confirm that the difference in audio quality is marginal. When you use the iPad in type mode, the microphone is blocked by the magnetic strip on the keyboard. This hole looks neatly finished, and we have tested the effect of blocking this microphone. For the microphone on the other side of the volume buttons, a fairly large and deep hole has been made in the cover. The on/off button and the volume buttons are a bit more difficult to press, because you now need to double the power.Īlso the microphones are not obstructed.
The cover also fits neatly around the camera, even if you only have one camera lens as in the iPad Pro 11 inch gen 1 (2018). The cover falls perfectly over the buttons and the iPad’s stereo speakers are free. After this, the sleeve sits like a cast and there is no play whatsoever, you notice that the quality control is very good if you can maintain this kind of accuracy. You have to put the iPad in the case in a special way, first you put the iPad in the bottom of the case and then you fold the top corners around the iPad with a little bit of force. It surprised us how thick the plastic used was, it’s about 2 mm thick. The case of the folio is made of thick soft matte plastic. Space to charge and stow Apple Pencil (2nd generation)
